Dr. Yi Jin received his M.D. from the Shanghai Medical University and completed his residence training in Neuropsychiatry in Shanghai Institute of Mental Health, one of the two WHO collaborating and training centers in China.
He continued his fellowship training in consultation-liaison psychiatry and neuroscience in UCLA and UC Irvine, respectively. He held many leading positions in academic and private clinical institutes. He served as director of the Behavioral EEG Laboratory in UC Irvine during the period between 1997 and 2007, faculty in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior in UC Irvine, and is currently a volunteer faculty in the Department of Radiation Oncology in UC San Diego. He also worked as chief of Neuroscience in Brookside Institute from 2004 to 2008.
He has co-founded two biomedical companies, Neosync Inc. and Newport Brain Research Laboratory, where he served as chief medical officers. Dr. Jin has received many research grant awards including those from Stanley Foundation, Dana Foundation, and National Mental Health Institute.
He also has patented several new inventions in neurosciences and clinical treatment for mental disorders. During the past 28 years of brain research, Dr. Jin has published over 40 peer-reviewed papers and presented in many academic conferences.
