Overview

In this presentation we will define terms like “epileptic versus non epileptic seizure.” We will inform you on how to suspect seizures even when the manifestations may be very subtle. We will present the distinct types of seizures that exist, and we will explore their underlying causes as well as various treatment options. We will establish a connection between seizures and autism and the importance of this connection discussed. We will present behavioral problems that are often associat- ed with epilepsy. Finally, we will introduce you to a model we use in our clinic called the RESTORATION MODEL in addressing medically refractory seizures. This model can also address challenges that face other difficult to treat chronic disorders.

Speakers: Jean-Ronel Corbier, MD and Paul Corbier, MD
